Metacognition

You may well ask : What is Metacognition?

"Metacognition" is often simply defined as "thinking about thinking." It is a cognitive process that is now recognized and taught in educational psychology.
METACOGNITION has three basic elements:
• Developing an action plan
• Monitoring and Maintaining the plan
• Evaluating the plan

These are the processes that make coaching so effective. Questia is the largest online library and they have a comprehensive list of books on this topic: www.questia.com
Emotional Intelligence and Success

Research suggests that the emotional quotient (EQ) is now a superior indicator of "success" than more traditional measures. Emotional intelligence is linked to results or outcomes such as personal and workplace performance. For example, improved communication ability means better business relationships hence increased profitability. Emotional intelligence is learned so therefore these necessary skills can be improved and developed. Understanding and working with emotional intelligence is the thread that runs right through the Coaching process.
